'Argo' wins Best Picture; Jennifer Lawrence takes a tumble but wins graciously for 'Silver Linings Playbook'

Daniel Day-Lewis, by far the most admired actor of the modern day, won the Oscar for Best Actor for his authentic performance as President Abraham Lincoln in Steven Spielberg's "Lincoln," making him the first performer to ever win Best Actor three times. Lewis won for "My Left Foot" in 1990 and "There Will Be Blood" in 2008.

'I can't think of anyone right now because I need to have to lie down for a couple of years. No, I can't think of any. I really can't, no. It's really hard to imagine doing anything after this,' Daniel Day-Lewis remarked upon receiving his third highly coveted gold statuette.

LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - "I can't think of anyone right now because I need to have to lie down for a couple of years. No, I can't think of any. I really can't, no. It's really hard to imagine doing anything after this," Lewis remarked upon receiving his third highly coveted gold statuette.

While Lewis was a favorite that had been expected to win, the 85th Academy Awards ceremony had its share of surprises. Collecting her Academy Award for Best Actress in "Silver Linings Playbook," Jennifer Lawrence took a tumble up the steps. Quickly regaining her composure, Lawrence laughed and thanked the audience for standing up to make sure she was uninjured.

The fast-paced war drama "Argo" won Best Picture - but Best Director went to Ang Li, for his adaptation of the metaphorical fantasy "Life of Pi." It was just the tip of the iceberg for a glamorous evening that held many unique choices and surprises.
