Short and pugnacious, British actor Bob Hoskins was born to play gangster types. His list of acting credits is long and prestigious: "Mona Lisa," "The Long Good Friday," the original TV production of "Pennies from Heaven." His most popular role was as the irascible detective navigating around the mythical "Toontown" in "Who Framed Roger Rabbit."
