Today's readings present a different focus than the general theme of Advent. Instead of the Lord's coming, says Fr. Maximilian, we are encouraged to come to the Lord. We will have many difficulties in this life, but when we bring them to the Crucified Lord, He will console us and give us the strength to continue on. We can see this in the Martyrs who never lost track of eternity amid their sufferings and offer them the veneration that Pope St. Damasus I encourages us to. Ave Maria! Mass: St. Damasus I - Opt Mem - Form: OF Readings: Wednesday in the 2nd Week in Advent 1st: isa 40:25-31 Resp: psa 103:1-2, 3-4, 8, 10 Gsp: mat 11:28-30
