The chimney that will release the white smoke for the election of a new Pope has been installed on the roof of the Sistine Chapel. The placing of the chimney completes the installation of the two stoves inside the Sistine Chapel. The preparatory work for the Chapel, frescoed by Michelangelo, has moved quickly. The last few days have seen the raising of the floor and the placement of benches for the Cardinals. The Cardinals are seated in order of precedence according to the various ranks within the College of Cardinals.
