Pope: Christians because we follow the Crucified One
Uploaded by on Feb 9, 2013
No one can be a Christian without following the Crucified, without accepting martyrdom, said the Pope, remembering those who have been persecuted in the name of Christ. Pope Benedict XVI on Friday evening held a lectio divina with the community of the Pontifical Major Seminary, on the feast of Our Lady of Trust, the patron of the institute. The Pope was welcomed by the Cardinal Vicar of Rome, Agostino Vallini, and the rector of the Seminary, Father Concetto Occhipinti. He was also warmly greeted by the 190 seminarians present and 16 young people in discernment during a preparatory year. At the end of the event, the Pope prayed before the image of Our Lady of Trust and stayed at the seminary for dinner.
