Symposium - Is Secularisation a Reality Today?

In his talk on secularisation, Jim Corkery SJ, first looks at the term 'secular' and its derivatives, then at the so-called 'secularisation hypothesis'. He continues by considering a fruitful theological relationship between the sacred and the secular and concludes by looking at Pope Benedict XVI's challenge to contemporary Europe in 2005: to look at things and live as if God did exist.
