Ave Maria! Sports Faith International is a Chicago-based initiative dedicated to inspiring and transforming our culture through the world of sports.   It will utilize the best of new and traditional media to feature and encourage the powerful personal testimonies of outstanding athletes at all levels, who are living out their faith on and off the field. Among those inducted in the 2010 Sports Faith International, was Brian Piccolo a Catholic and a professional football player for the Chicago Bears. He died from embryonal cell carcinoma, an aggressive form of cancer. He was the subject of the 1971 TV movie Brian's Song. Piccolo played in the NFL from 1966 to 1969 and scored five touchdowns.
