Father points out that today's saint, Martha, is seen as an image of the active life, and as the Gospel shows us, the contemplative life, exemplified in her sister Mary, is higher than the active life, and even in the active life, contemplation is necessary. To conclude, Father reads a commentary on this verse (the Navarre Bible) which shows how we may infuse the spirit of prayer into all our daily actions, especially the most mundane. Ave Maria!
