St Paschal Baylon was born of poor but devout and virtuous parents. He worked as as a sheep herder and as such was given over to prayer and contemplation. After becoming a Franciscan he was known to be greatly devoted to the blessed sacrament. As a saint he became patron saint of Eucharistic congresses. His example of Eucharistic devotion we should all follow.
