St. Ulric
Patron against birth complications; against faintness; against fever; against mice and moles; diocese of Augsburg, Germany; happy death; weavers
890 - 973
Ulric was born at Augsburg, Germany. He was educated at St. Gall Abbey in Switzerland and by his uncle, St. Adalbeo, bishop of Augsburg. Ulric succeeded to the See as bishop in 923, and when Augsburg was plundered and ravaged by the Magyars, he led its inhabitants in the task of rebuilding the city and its cathedral. In his old age, he retired to St. Gall, named his nephew as his successor, and was accused of nepotism for his action. His canonization by Pope John XV in 993 is the first recorded canonization by a Pope. His feast day is July 4th.

Very interesting!
This article is very helpful. I simply wanted to know the meaning of Uldarico (in Spanish). I was born in 4th of July in Manila, Philippines..I was named after Bishop Ulric of Germany.and this brief article did serve my purpose. I was told, my great-great grand parents business partner are German, Bauermann. Their company name was Carmelo & Bauermann Printing Press. When I was born, since my grandfather is a Santisteban, I briefly resided inside the compound of the Press. I assumed three years after I was born, World War II broke and Japanese has already invaded the Northern Part of the Island. We were quickly asked to evacuate far from Manila. After the War, when we returned to the Printing compound, we found the company was empty and partially destroyed, We did not know what happened to Don Enrique Santisteban Carmelo, the last living owner of the Company, so we move out of the printing press facility. In as much Ulric (or Uldarico) is of German origin, to this day is a very rare name given to a new born baby boy. Since am the last surving Santisteban, I have to do research for me to know exactly what my name means. Thank you.
