Benedictine abbot. Originally a monk in the monastery of St. Maximinus, Trier, Germany, he was named by King Otto I to go to St. Gall Monastery in Switzerland to bring needed reforms to that community. After completing his mission, he was named abbot of Gladbach and also abbot of Weissenburg.
