Clark County, NV High School Students Invited to Participate in Scholarship Essay Contest - Apr 4-29

$1,500 in scholarships up for grabs; two winners will be selected
Las Vegas, NV (March 24, 2011) - Beginning April 4, 2011, Advantages Online Private School invites all Clark County, NV high school students, including students in Catholic schools, to take part in a $1,500 Scholarship Essay Contest. Students can enter by visiting www.AdvantagesSchool.com, filling out an entry form and completing a 200-word essay.
The submitted essay should describe, from the perspective of the student, the biggest challenge they face in high school (as related to education) and how they are conquering it.
When the contest concludes on April 29, 2011, Advantages founders will select two winners and each will receive a $750 scholarship to cover the cost of a single course. Winners can select from various mathematics, language arts, social science and science courses, as well as Spanish or French I and II.
"We are excited to offer this scholarship contest to public or private school students throughout Clark County, NV," said Pam Dion, director and co-founder of Advantages Online Private School. "The two winners of the contest will have the opportunity to recover a failed credit without having to go to summer school or simply sharpen their knowledge of a particular subject."
Courses at Advantages may be taken from any computer at any time of the day. The school is also fully accredited; meaning credits completed through Advantages are transferable to any school in Clark County, NV. Advantages teachers and counselors are available for one-on-one communication to guide students on the best academic path.
"Students are faced with unique educational challenges in today's fast-paced and always evolving technological savvy world. The student also can determine and set the pace for completion of courses in order to achieve their goals," Dion added.
