NEW YORK, NY (December 28, 2010) - Please join us for our next Theology on Tap on Thursday January 20, 2011 starting at 7:30pm title "Christian Courtship in an Oversexed World: A Guide for Catholics."

In a culture in which the sex-saturated TV hit sit-com "Friends" sets the accepted standard of behavior for young single adults, Fr. Thomas G. Morrow's book, "Christian Courtship in an Oversexed World: A Guide for Catholics," is a genuine shocker. Fr. Morrow baldly declares that Catholic young adults can and should remain chaste during dating and courtship. What does a celibate priest know about dating and courtship? Well, quite a bit. Tom Morrow, a former engineer, dated frequently until he entered the seminary at age 33.

This is a fascinating and much needed talk. Everyone is invited to attend, and we encourage young adults in their 20s, 30s and 40s to participate as well as neighboring college\university\graduate students. Guest Speaker Bio:

Father Thomas G. Morrow ran track in high school and college, competing in the high jump, pole vault and decathlon. He graduated from St. Charles Seminary in Philadelphia and was ordained in 1982 for the Archdiocese of Washington (DC). He has an STL in Moral Theology and received his Doctorate in Sacred Theology (STD) in Moral Theology from the Pope John Paul II Institute for Studies on Marriage and Family in 1999.

He was host for three years (1989-1992) of Catholic Faith Alive!, radio program on WNTR in Washington, in which he explained the Catholic Faith. Fr. Morrow has appeared as a Guest on Mother Angelica Live and The Abundant Life Programs on Eternal Word Television Network (EWTN). He has written booklets on the rosary ("World's Most Powerful Mysteries" and "Imitate What They Contain") the stations of the cross ("A Disciple's Way of the Cross"), and on heaven, hell and purgatory ("God's Wakeup Call") and has had articles published in Homiletics and Pastoral Review (9), Emmanuel, Fidelity, New Covenant, Our Sunday Visitor, Laywitness and The Catholic Standard. He is also co-founder and chaplain of Catholics United for Life of DC/MD, a pro-life group which sponsors rosary novenas and sidewalk counseling outside several abortion centers in the DC Metro area.

Fr. Morrow is co-founder of the St. Catherine Society, for single women seeking spiritual growth, and the St Lawrence Society, the male counterpart to the St Catherine Society. He is still spiritual advisor to these groups, now found in three parishes in the Washington, DC area.

His book, "Christian Courtship in an Oversexed World" was published in September 2003 by Our Sunday Visitor Press and is now in its second printing. Fr. Morrow's recent books include "Why Must I Attend Sunday Mass?" and "Be Holy: A Catholic's Guide to the Spiritual Life." He is currently parochial vicar at St. Catherine Labouré in Wheaton, MD.
