UCMVA Uses Social Networking to Build Membership Awareness

Donnellson, IA (October 21,2010) - The United Catholic Music & Video Association (UCMVA) is pleased to announce a viable presence on several social networking sites in an effort to build membership awareness. Just recently new profiles were set up on Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, 4Marks, and Shoutlife. Each of these social media entities has unique characteristics unto themselves. Facebook allows the UCMVA to not only post pertinent information relative to the interest of members, but also allows both current and prospective members to engage in dialogue relating to similar interests. MySpace allows the opportunity to feature recorded music/video by members.

Twitter allows the opportunity to post important and relevant information that may require a sense of urgency. 4Marks (specific to the Catholic community) and Shoutlife are popular sites that encourage interactive fellowship. "We recognize that with a global membership representing a diverse community of Catholic artists, filmmakers, industry and business professionals (in music and media), parish music leaders and students (whose focus is on the creative arts), there is a need for proactive communication, dialogue and discussion in regards to the needs of our members.", says Alyson Bleistine, UCMVA Marketing and Membership Manager. "We want to offer a community platform for promoting the on goings and efforts of our membership, and the social network marketing available today is one of the best ways to achieve that objective and remain consistent to our mission statement."

All of these sites will also play an important role in promoting the UNITY AWARDS, an annual event hosted by the UCMVA that recognizes the outstanding achievements of those involved in Catholic music & media.
