Over 900 expected to attend Pure Fashion Show in D.C.

WASHINGTON, D.C. (APRIL 3, 2008) - More than 900 expected to attend an afternoon full of fashion and fun at the fourth annual D.C. Pure Fashion Show and Luncheon, held Sunday, April 13, 2008 at the Grand Hyatt, Washington, D.C.

The 46 high school girls selected to model in the show have been involved with the seven-month program since the fall. The girls hail from both public and private schools in VA., MD. and D.C. Through Pure Fashion, beauty tips are mixed with faith-based formation to help the girls discriminate when they make their clothing choices. They receive training in nutrition, etiquette, leadership, public speaking, make-up application and, of course, modeling.

Emceed by FOX 5's co-anchor, Laura Evans, the afternoon unfolds with our keynote speaker, Lisa Rice, co-author of , For Young Women Only: What You Need to Know About How Guys Think, and entertainment by Against the Current, an all-girls band, and St. Michael's Warriors dance troupe.

Since its inception in 1999, Pure Fashion has spread to 22 states and 5 countries with the goal of targeting the media, fashion, and culture with its message of modest dressing for teens while encouraging the teens themselves to recognize their inherent dignity. By choosing pretty but not provocative, trendy but still tasteful clothing, teens realize that their outward appearance is a direct reflection of their interior attitude.
