Catholic Rockers podcast now featured on Star Quest Podcast Network The podcast dedicated to the hottest new Christian music done by Catholics is now part of the largest Catholic podcasting network.

Leominster, MA - Starting with episode #16 of Catholic Rockers, the popular music podcast will be part of SQPN, the largest podcasting network on the Internet. Each show, Catholic Rockers features a single band or artist, with music and interviews.

"The mission of Catholic Rockers is to put a person behind the music" host George Leite says. "These musicians and groups have so much more to offer. When you hear the heart behind the music, or the meaning of a song, it can move you even more."

"I'm often asked 'why Catholic Rockers, isn't it just Christian Rock?' It's true that it is Christian music by definition, but as Catholics they bring a fullness of faith to their music. Most contemporary Christian music (known as CCM) is not anti-Catholic, but it does not speak to our love of the sacraments, the saints, or traditions of the Church. That is why our interview of the artist always includes questions about their personal faith, and love of the Church."

A podcast is a short, online radio-like show that you can download and listen to on your computer or MP3 player. Listeners can go back and listen to any of the previous episodes. Podcasting is the hottest thing today in new media. Shows like Catholic Rockers are taking full advantage of this new media to evangelize without boundaries.

Fr. Roderick Vonhögen, Catholic priest of the Archdiocese of Utrecht, The Netherlands, created the Star Quest Podcast Network (SQPN) in 2005. Fr. Roderick's show, Catholic Insider, was one of the first Catholic podcasts, and grew to popularity with a series of podcasts from St. Peter's Square in Rome when Pope John Paul II died, and also when Pope Benedict XVI was elected. As podcasting grew, Fr Roderick decided to gather the best Catholic podcasts under one label. Rosary Army was the first to join SQPN, followed by shows like The SaintCast and The Hands and Feet podcast. Catholic Rockers has now been invited to become part of this excellent line-up.

George Leite is a resident of Leominster, Massachusetts along with his wife Joyce and their two children, Joshua and Joseph. A Catholic musician himself, George was the bassist for the Catholic band 1Body. George has been on the Worcester Diocese men's conference planning committee and the Cursillo secretariat for years. George and his wife also presented for Catholic Engaged Encounter for 10 years. He has been a software engineer for the last 18 years. Along with Catholic Rockers, George is also the host of the podcast Going Fourth at www.goingfourth.com.
