Rocking Catholic Converts Create Cancer Survivor Song

Los Angeles, California, April 11, 2006 -- The Catholic Rock band Rise has just released their latest CD, "Stand the Line," which contains a heartfelt song entitled "Cancer's Creation." This emotional song was written by lead singer Steve Rogers after his year-long battle with cancer and is already helping to provide strength, comfort and encouragement to those facing the same battle.

Rise is a Catholic rock band from Southern California founded in 2000, the year that two band members were welcomed into the Catholic Church. A unique blend of 80's big hair band rockers, now a cop, a general contractor, a sales manager and a CEO of a tech company. Rise has released two CD's, "Through the Son" and "Stand the Line", performed throughout the United States, performed during World Youth Day 2005 in Cologne, Germany and has received radio airplay around the world, including major markets in and around Los Angeles.

In May 2002, at our debut CD release party, lead singer Steve Rogers announced that he had been diagnosed with a very aggressive form of cancer. After chemotherapy and two serious surgeries, Steve is now cancer free. The experience was life changing for Steve and the Rise family and has provided a unique perspective for all of us.

During the recording of Rise's latest CD, Steve surprised the band by introducing a song exploring his experience battling cancer. He was concerned that it might not fit within the context of the other songs, but the rest of the band insisted that "Cancer's Creation" be included on the new CD. The response to the new CD and this song has been extremely positive with reviews and comments such as these:
