New CD by Rise sells out in first week of release

LOS ANGELES - Feb 28, 2006 (CatholicMusicNetwork.com) No sooner had the Southern California band, Rise, released the first printing of their new CD "Stand The Line" when they were told that it has been sold out. The second printing was rushed to press and most Catholic music outlets have now received their orders.

"Stand the Line" comes four years after Rise hit the Catholic music scene with their first CD, "Through the Son." Since that time the band has gone through many peaks and valleys, from one member battling cancer, to changing drummers, to a trip to Germany to perform at World Youth Day 2005, to the long and arduous process of recording "Stand The Line." "You won't hear any complaints from us, though," says band member Mike Beloud. "We have never felt more on fire to spread the Good News and to teach the beauty of the Catholic Faith by sharing our conversion stories with anyone who will listen. We have grown a lot musically and we've matured in our faith since we first started this mission."

The direction Rise's music has taken over the past few years can best be summed up by this liner note from the CD insert of "Stand the Line":

"The period during which the songs on 'Stand the Line' were written was a particularly challenging and eventful time for the Rise family as well as for the entire world. The horrific experiences of the World Trade Center murders, the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, Steve's year long battle with cancer, as well as the scandal within our Church, all greatly influenced the tone and message of this record. In many ways 'Stand the Line' was our way of working through the very real feelings of fear, doubt and sadness brought on by the nature of our existence. However, we also believe that 'Stand the Line' delivers a very real message of hope. Through the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, as well as the ties of family and friends within the Body of Christ, each of us can have a positive impact on our world. Rise thanks you for all of your continued prayers and support. Rise would like to especially dedicate 'Stand the Line' to all of the brave young men and women of the United States Armed Services and their families for their honor, integrity and sacrifices they make for us."

Beloud adds: "The response to 'Stand the Line' so far has been very inspiring and we continue to be invited to perform both large and small concerts around the United States. We are most proud to announce that our Protestant drummer, Mike Partain, has spent the last two years in RCIA and this Easter Vigil will be welcomed into the fullness of the Catholic Church! "
