The CatholicTV Network will air the Magnificat Day of Faith, the first major Catholic event in the Crystal Cathedral, the future Christ Cathedral

WATERTOWN, MA (October 24, 2012) – The CatholicTV Network, along with the Magnificat Foundation, in association with the Diocese of Orange will air the Magnificat Day of Faith on November 3, 2012 from the future Christ Cathedral with Master of Ceremonies, Father Robert Reed.

Under the inspired leadership of Pierre-Marie Dumont, founding Publisher of the monthly magazine Magnificat and President of the Magnificat Foundation, the day will be filled with the same prayerful approach to beauty and truth found within the pages of Magnificat.

Known and loved for decades as the Crystal Cathedral, when renovations are completed it will be among the largest cathedrals in the United States and a destination for hundreds of thousands of Christians around the world. Purchased by the Catholic Diocese of Orange in February 2012, the future Christ Cathedral will be a center of culture for the Catholic Cathedral in the United States. Cardinal Timothy Dolan, in a letter to the Papal Nuncio, referring to the purchase of the Crystal Cathedral, said it was “a blessing, not only to the Diocese of Orange, but to the entire Church in the United States, and an effective boost to the New Evangelization in our country.”

Spread over 34 acres, the Cathedral campus encompasses spaces created by eminent twentieth-century architects. Some notable aspects include: the fifth largest organ in the world, the first skyscraper in the Orange County and buildings designed by Richard Neutra, Philip Johnson and Richard Meier.

Highlighting the experiences of great men and women of faith, the day will feature a series of presentations by leading Catholic thinkers, with a keynote address by Fr. Peter John Cameron, o.p., Editor-in-Chief of Magnificat. Editor-in-Chief of Magnificat Father Peter John Cameron was ordained a Dominican priest in 1986. In addition to his work with Magnificat, he is the chairman of the department of homiletics at St. Joseph’s Seminary, Dunwoodie, New York, and the artistic director of Black friars Repertory Theatre in New York City. He is the author of nine books, including “Blessing Prayers: Devotions for Growing in Faith.”

This event will be available on CatholicTV, ROKU and www.CatholicTV.com starting at 12PM ET on November 3, 2012.
