Gaining protection from 'the hand that rocks the cradle'

Total Consecration to Jesus through Mary offers prayerful path to perfection

HAVERFORD, Pa (August 24, 2011) - More than a century before acclaimed poet William Ross Wallace published what would become his signature poem, St. Louis de Montfort was delivering a message even stronger than that in Wallace's "The Hand that Rocks the Cradle." In that work, published in 1865, Wallace concluded each of his three stanzas with:

"For the hand that rocks the cradle is the hand that rules the world."

"There is no question that Our Blessed Mother rocked the cradle of the Son of God, and that God chose her as the mother of His Son ... a Son who will not refuse His sinless Mother's requests - especially when we seek the spiritual protection the Consecration to God through her provides," said Anthony Mullen, Executive Director of the Children of the Father Foundation and its MyConsecration.org website.

St. Louis de Montfort's Total Consecration to Jesus Through Mary provides the opportunity to use prayer for protection and perfection during a time that reveals more challenges than ever. "When we look around," Mullen said, "we see more threats to God and the Church from more sides than possibly any other time in history. It is imperative that we turn to the Mother of God - the hand that rocked the cradle of our Savior - and seek her guidance and intercession as we continue to navigate these difficult times."
