Tim Watkins Honored with International Award for 'The Blood & The Rose' Documentary

Hunt Valley, MD (August 18, 2011) - Renegade Communications, a communications and production company based in Hunt Valley, Maryland, announced today that its president and CEO Tim Watkins is being honored with the Zumarraga Evangelization Award in Guadalupe, Spain by the Camino Guadalupe Project.

This award is presented to an individual or group who personifies the spirit and evangelization of Bishop Juan de Zumarraga (1468 - 1548), the first archbishop of Mexico City, whose mission it was to share the Catholic faith. In the 16th century, Bishop Zumarraga made personal sacrifices, leaving home and his beloved monastery, to help spread Catholicism and bring it to the new Americas.

Watkins was presented the award on August 14, 2011 in Guadalupe, Spain in honor of his work on the historical documentary The Blood and The Rose, which will be released later this year. The Blood & The Rose is a documentary film that dissects the story of the Virgin of Guadalupe, beginning with the history behind the miracle, and is the story of her divine apparition that transformed the Americas and helped further the spread of Catholicism.
