Eternity - How do you know where you will spend it?
Go to Jesus through Mary in St. Louis de Montfort's Total Consecration
HAVERTOWN, PA (August 4, 2011) - What happens when we die?
Biblical references make clear that those who have surrendered themselves to and followed Jesus will enjoy everlasting life in his Father's house. Just as clear is Jesus' gift to all men of his mother:
"When Jesus saw his mother and the disciple there whom He loved, He said to His mother, 'Woman, behold your son.' Then he said to the disciple, 'Behold, your mother.'" - John 19: 26-27
St. Louis de Montfort's Total Consecration to Jesus through Mary makes it possible for anyone to surrender to and follow Jesus through His Mother.
"Total Consecration to Jesus through Mary is a great gift! It is the surest road to heaven," said Fr. Jay Finelli, pastor of the Church of the Holy Ghost in Tiverton, R.I., and host of the "iPadre" podcast. "The example of the saints, faithful sons and daughters of Mary, should inspire us to walk with Our Lady. If we live our consecration with fidelity and zeal, we can be assured that Our Lady will help us also to become saints."
"Dying to oneself really starts the process of preparing for an eternity in Heaven," said Anthony Mullen, executive director of the Children of the Father Foundation and MyConsecration.org. "One of our Lord's most comforting messages during His ministry on Earth is that, through that death, we are born again to everlasting love and peace in His name. The surest way of dying to oneself is to imitate Christ and entrust our early lives to His Mother through the Total Consecration provided by St. Louis de Montfort."
The devotion is intended to end on a Marian feast day. The next starting day, Aug. 6, 2011, will mean that those completing the devotion during this period will make their personal, Total Consecration, on Our Lady's birthday - Sept. 8. Other August starting dates will lead to Total Consecrations on Sept. 12, the Feast of the Most Holy Name of Mary (start date Aug. 10); Sept. 15, the feast of Our Lady of Sorrows (start date Aug. 13); and Sept. 24, the feast of Our Lady of Walsingham, England (start date Aug. 22).
