God restored to Dems platform, fools nobody

Actions speak louder than words.

Democrats have rapidly backpedaled from their Godless stance that smacks of atheism in their platform. After widespread public outcry, the Democratic platform has been amended to restore God and the mention of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel to their guiding document.

Shall this be one nation under -- Obama?

CHARLOTTE, NC (Catholic Online) - The mention of both God and Jerusalem were conspicuously absent from the Democratic platform on Tuesday, which caused an outcry from both conservatives and Democrats alike. Mitt Romney told Fox News yesterday, "I think their having removed purposefully God from their platform suggests a party which is increasingly out of touch with the mainstream of American people. I think this party is veering further and further away into an extreme wing that Americans don't recognize."

In response to the backlash, some Democrats proposed an amendment to the platform which restored both God and Jerusalem in the document. After several contentious votes, these were finally approved.

Some Democrats were subsequently angered that God was restored to the platform and loudly booed the decision.

Democrats have already gone into full apologetic mode, explaining the restoration was to maintain consistency between the 2008 platform and Obama's personal views, but these statements are fooling nobody.

Of course, the proof is in how a candidate conducts himself. On the matter of Jerusalem, Obama has joined Bill Clinton and George W. Bush in defying a congressional mandate to return the US embassy to that city. The embassy remains in Tel Aviv, while Palestinians and Israelis are left to negotiate the details of what to do with the holy city.

As for God, Obama professes belief, but continues to preside over what may be the greatest persecution of the American Catholic Church in history. His likely unconstitutional healthcare edict continues to see implementation without meaningful accommodation and respect for the First Amendment rights of believers and their freedom of conscience.

And a variety of other anti-life policies, including abortion remain legal.

Ultimately, these are the standards by which a candidates beliefs ought to be judged, as opposed to passing mentions in official platforms.

By that standard then, God and Jerusalem remain out of the official spotlight and are likely to
remain so for at least several months to come.

Not only was no one fooled but the majority of delegates were angry that God was forced into the Platform. Those watching TV as I did saw the delegates get livid. This is a Party that is militantly anti-God. We Catholics are in for a huge struggle in the near future.

As I watched the voting on TV the teleprompter was shown and it was already posted as passed. The person calling the votes had no choice but to make the call. I'd venture to say that if a "real and honest" vote was taken the "nays" would have got it. These people are pretty godless. To say that "some Democrats were subsequently angered that God was restored" is an understatement. If you'd heard the "yeah" and "nays" it sounded pretty well in favor of "nay", it was loud.

True mind control of the masses is to make people deny and hate the idea of the existence of God. This way the politic becomes god,bow and do THEM HOMAGE! Same old story of the conquered nations in every generation since the beginning of humankind. The dictator causes the death of every nation time and time again. Who is this godless dictator? : the man without substance and with weak character,the godless man of purely empty rhetoric full of the same empty promises,the man with no values except self serving ones.

It is interesting, is it not, how politicians "restore God" into their political platforms for political expediency. You hypocrital sophistic politically expedient whores! Increase intensity and focus on all angles against this party. Eject them. (peacefully, naturally) What a mobocracy herd mentality circus. Does anyone still go to Disneyland? There is more fantasy and incredulous acting right in the theatre of politics. The political stage is one of many actors. YOU, the citizenry, get to write the script. YOU get to direct the actors. YOU can even SINK the stage and drown the actors and the entire system if you wish. Shall I teach you how? It is VERY simple. There is but one single link on the chain to dismantle. I certainly hope you all know which one it is. Just letting everyone know many are paying attention, from various places on the globe. Can you deliver speeches, without teleprompters? Shakespeare actors can. A little word of advice to the Democrats. You are standing on shaky ground right now. It risks turning into quick sand fast, with your entire platform sinking as your party self implodes due to what? YOURSELVES and your erroneous sophistic lies, deceit, arrogance, and failure to acknowledge undeniable self evident truths which politicians have nothing to do with. They will be the same self evident undeniable truths, as they always have been, long after your names are on the dust shelves inside half forgotten books in the history departments of universities. What an interesting spectacle, this mobocracy is. Shakespeare, Moliere, Hugo, Pascal, Plato, St. Augustine, would have had a bazaar with you FOOLS. Yes we can? Change is coming to America? Many are not enjoying the change we have seen. If a gopher says yes we can, it still doesn't turn him into an eagle. And if Mr. Romney messes up? Then, change your democracy and outlaw campaigning as it exists today. It is that simple. The democratic system needs to be refined, including in how candidates are brought forth and chosen. Campaigning is campaigning. Governing is governing. There is some overlap in terms of intrinsic nature, but there are many differences inherently present as well. I fear I might be wasting my energies and time, sometimes, but since we have a duty to speak our consciences and since I like the United States and have many good American friends; well, I therefore take energy and time to write. Furthermore, given the American influence globally, it is important to share thoughts. It is for your good, that I offer this vinegar to you. Humility is for your own good. I am not offering any solutions here, since they risk getting taken out of context, misunderstood, misinterpreted, and the sensationalist media types (most left leaning, even worse in Canada) won't buy it because it would risk putting them out of work! In other words, not all doctors and dentists wish for their patients to be healthy and cavity free. Why? The hospitals would be empty and the dental room chairs unoccupied. Why is it that for most professions and trades, a certain amount of training and background is necessary? And yet, in politics anyone and everyone and their goat can throw their hat into the ring to run a country! What kind of insanity is this? A democracy, such as America's, is simply a mirror reflection of the collective consciousness (or unconsciousness) of the citizenry. In other words, culture matters. Education and formation of the citizenry matters. Being AWAKE matters. The democrats sure must be powerful, if they can "restore God", as if to switch Him on and off like a light switch. Fantasy at its finest. A circus filled with baffoons! Is this what Ivy league schools produce? I'll be sure not to recommend them to anyone, henceforth. Perhaps an Ivy league friend of mine was right after all. "What they know above anything else, is protocol". In other words, how to eat your enemy with a knife and fork while wearing a tuxedo sitting at a table; to paraphrase a great guru infinitely more enlightened than politicians. Having retired professor emeritus friends much older than I am is wonderful. Why? They tell you the truth about their true thoughts and feelings vis-a-vis academia, for they are retired and FREE from the system and economically taken care of. In other words, they can afford to be much more honest in their own perception. In truth, we can always be honest. It does, however, come with risk. Look at what happened to Socrates!

This was a cowardly switcharoo but a necessary evil in the political arena of vote mongering. It is my hope the Democratic Party reconsiders this choice and in the future returns to a vision inclusive of all Americans. -Cheers! Mike

Did you hear all of the booing when it was announced that God would be returned to the platform (despite a voice vote that didn't sound particularly one-sided...)? Now we know where all the Communists went; they went to the Democratic Party! And why not? The philosophies certainly do seem to mesh.
