Romney campaign raises $12.6 million in March
Multimillionaire candidate has not taken any personal loans to his campaign
Mitt Romney's presidential campaign has announced that they have raised
nearly $12.6 million in primary funds last month. The Romney campaign
also announced that they have raised $87 million in primary funds over
the past year, with $10.1 million cash on hand. The Romney camp also
declared that as of the end of last month, only primary contributions
had been brought in. The former Massachusetts governor, who has an
estimated net worth of at $190 million, has also not made any personal
loans to his campaign.

"Mitt Romney's continued strong fundraising shows that voters across the country are tired of the failures from President Obama. We will continue the hard work to raise the necessary funds to defeat President Obama and change the direction of the country," Romney National Finance Chairman Spencer Zwick said in a statement.
On the other end of the political spectrum, President Barack Obama's re-election campaign announced this week that they have raised $53 million in March, up about $8 million from the month before, bringing to nearly $350 million the amount of money raised by the re-election team since they formed a year ago. The money raised goes to the Obama Victory Fund, which is divided by the Obama re-election campaign, the Democratic National Committee and affiliated committees.
The Obama campaign did not indicate its cash on hand. As of March 1, the campaign reported $85 million in the bank. Obama broke all records by raising nearly $750 million in his 2008 campaign for the presidency.
The Romney campaign said that 84 percent of all donations received through the end of last month were $250 or less. Monday the Obama campaign announced that 97 percent of their donations in March were for $250 or less.
In February, during the heated primary battle, the Romney campaign raised $12 million and spent $12.4 million.
