Herman Cain: 'It's Not Planned Parenthood -- No, It's Planned Genocide'
There's not any planning other than to abort the baby
It's carrying out its original mission. I've talked to young girls who go in there and they don't talk about how you plan parenthood. They don't talk about adoption as an option. They don't say bring your parents in so you we can talk to you before you make this decision. Talk to some young lady who has gone into some of these centers to see what kind of conversation takes place. They have basically carried out their original mission. There's not any planning other than to abort the baby.
WASHINGTON, DC (CNSNews.com) - Likely Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain supports ending all federal funding to Planned Parenthood, an abortion business that he said was founded to target African Americans and is continuing that mission.
"Here's why I support de-funding Planned Parenthood, because you don't hear a lot of people talking about this, when Margaret Sanger - check my history - started Planned Parenthood, the objective was to put these centers in primarily black communities so they could help kill black babies before they came into the world," Cain told CNSNews.com on Tuesday when speaking at the conservative Heritage Foundation.
Cain's comment was in response to a question from CNSNews.com about whether the Republican-controlled Congress should vote against any federal tax dollars for Planned Parenthood.
"You don't see that talked that much about," said Cain. "It's not Planned Parenthood. No, it's planned genocide. You can quote me on that."
Cain, an African American and the former CEO of Godfather's Pizza, is a columnist, author, talk-radio host, and a tea party activist. He has established an exploratory committee for the 2012 presidential race.
Another reporter later followed-up, asking Cain if he supported de-funding the abortion business because of why it was founded or because of its current mission.
Cain said he does not believe there is a great distance between Planned Parenthood's past and present mission.
"It's carrying out its original mission," Cain said. "I've talked to young girls who go in there and they don't talk about how you plan parenthood. They don't talk about adoption as an option. They don't say bring your parents in so you we can talk to you before you make this decision."
"Talk to some young lady who has gone into some of these centers to see what kind of conversation takes place," said Cain. "They have basically carried out their original mission. There's not any planning other than to abort the baby."
"When they have an objective to put 75 percent [Planned Parenthood facilities] in African American communities, says to me they are targeting blacks," Cain continued. "They are doing the same thing at the other 25 percent, I guess."
In response to a question, Cain also told CNSNews.com that House Republican leaders should follow the lead of Reps. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) and Steve King (R-Iowa) who want to block any continuing resolution on the federal budget that funds the health care overhaul law, popularly known as ObamaCare.
"I think the leadership should follow their lead, absolutely," Cain said. "When you have over 1,000 businesses asking for exemptions from ObamaCare, shouldn't that say something is wrong with it?" he said. "It's called: It's a disaster. It's a disaster before it gets out of the starting gate. What part of 'this isn't going to work' do some people not understand? You've got 1,000 businesses who have asked for exemptions. The administration granted all of them."
"They know there is something fundamentally flawed about this legislation," said Cain. "It is not bringing down cost as it was advertised. It is in fact driving up costs even with the little bit of implementation that they're doing. It is not increasing access. In fact it's decreasing access because you've got small businesses out there saying, 'I'm dropping my health insurance.'"
According to its annual report, Planned Parenthood received $363.2 million in government grants and contracts during its 2008-09 fiscal year, up from $349.6 million in FY 2007-08. According to a fact sheet on its Web site, Planned Parenthood performed 324,008 abortions in calendar year 2008.
The CDC recently reported that in New York City in 2007, there were 87,527 abortions performed, and 43,568 (or 49.8 percent) of the aborted babies were black. The Census Bureau says there are 8,302,659 people in New York City, of whom 2,085,514 -- or 25 percent -- are black. Thus, black babies in New York City were aborted at a rate that is twice the black share of the municipal population.

On Abortion: "I now realize that calling Herman Cain “pro-choice” was not just wrong, it was disastrously wrong, and for that I am sorry. I have come to understand that Herman Cain has in reality done far more for the pro-life movement than I ever have. For instance, he donated $1 million of his own money in an attempt to encourage black voters to vote pro-life. His 2004 Senate campaign made life a central issue. His work opposing abortion – especially among the black population – has led many leftist organizations to denounce him with hysterical, shrieking screeds; which is probative evidence of the fact that they were to some degree effective."

Vance, but are they responding? My guess is that they have become comfortable with the fact that we won't vote for the other guy so I really don't have to pick the issue up if it isn't politically expedient. They have us between a rock and hard place. I think what we are really voting for in regards to life issues when we vote for the GOP is the status quo. I don't get the sense that is the Church's position.
Rob, If you are activie withe Pro-Life activities, you would know that they are calling and emailing the GOP reps. I have showered Boehner's Office with calls and emails. If I were you, I'd call and email the Governor's Office along with the State Senate and Assembly of BOTH PARTIES. Then make a sign and stand infront of an abortion clinic to protest.
At what point are we going to begin holding the GOP accountable about abortion? Our legislative session just wrapped up and I just listened to a legislative wrap up about the session. He stated that he was really disappointed that with such a decisive GOP victory in our state, he was shocked on the fact that not one GOP legislator (including the governor who is Cactholic) did not lift a finger to help push through a parental notification law. Everything they fought about (money only) almost all failed to pass. Now I know many of you will get angry about this and begin to quote the dems record. Honestly, I don't care about that. About the only reason I am voting republican these days is due to the life issue. But when it's completely gone from the platform, what the heck am I supposed to do? I thought maybe the fact that the session was during lent we'd have a few more legislators willing to stick their necks out....nope. Not one. They didn't even muster enough interest for a fight on the bill. Just sad.
Just as long as those good people still have to put up with the likes of Sharpton and Jackson they will never react as they should.Of course my parents ethnic backgound is also always lampooned as in gawdfadder and soupanos nonsense..this is never called a hate crime you see. Planned parenthood was invented to control vast parts of the populace ,insulting them yet making them seem its all for their own good, like abortion on demand has fooled the young ladies into thinking they have won, while instead now the guy can just smirk..so what,go and have it taken care of..(that way I wont have to support it and thus learn from my immoral behavior)....
May the Holy Spirit be with Mr. Cain as he is led into the desert that finds so many in this nation with their heads in the sand about the abortion issue and its history. Mr. Cain speaks the truth. Those who think Mr. Cain is not speaking the truth, do your own research. I'll refer you to www.maafa21.com which has produced sobering documentary about the history of the genocidal abortion movement in the U.S. You can also read the following books, "Pivot of Civilization" by Margaret Sanger, "Margaret Sanger: Father of Modern Society" by Elasah Drogin, and "Birth Control in America, The Career of Margaret Sanger" by David Kennedy. It is about time we have a Republican presidential candidate that speaks boldly and sincerely on this issue.
Robert,
Your comment lacks ANY credibility based on 5 words: "There are no recreational abortions". And how do you know that?
His quote, and Catholic.orgs promoting of it, is disgraceful. Women who have abortions are truely in horrible places in their lifes. None of them take it lightly. No one is running out trying to get pregnant so they get to have an abortion. there are no recreational abortions. Abortions are not fun. And these women, whatever flaws they may have, are not running a genocide. Shame on you. May God have mercy on your soul.
@ Mr. or Mrs. fjuyfkhjfkhf the only false witness in this bloody trade is planed G. and their use of the word parenthood.
This is a great article. This is the kind of writting that upsets pro abortionists. They want mild talk. You call it terrible because it does not serve the pro death groups. Am not surprised that you put in the place of the name a obscenity. If you don't respect others at least repect yourself.
Like him or not, Herman Cain speaks with conviction and intelligence. His radio talk show has been carried locally for several years, and although I don't always agree with him I enjoy listening. I love to see him telling it like it is WRT Planned Parenthood. If just one "pro-choice"-minded person googles "Margaret Sanger" as a result of what Mr. Cain has said, and learns what this eugenicist actually stood for, they might just rethink their support of Planned Parenthood.
