WASHINGTON, D.C. (A Humble Plea) - Randall Terry has announced the convening of peaceful demonstrations and Press conferences in 18 major cities on Thursday Oct. 29, 2008. We present the announcement as a service. Many readers have written in response to Randall's article asking about such events.(Editor)

****

Will you join us in reaching the Catholics and Evangelicals in your community? Will you lead an event in your town? If Christians hear the truth – spoken with love and clarity – many will ultimately reject Obama, and protect the babies with their vote.

On Thursday, October 30, at 12 noon local time, we are holding peaceful demonstrations and press conferences in front of Obama Headquarters across the country. We currently have 18 cities; we could hit 25 or 30. (Go to www.humbleplea.com to see the current list of cities, contact info, and addresses.)

We are asking you to join us in a scheduled event, or to pull one together over the next day. We have total instructions and a press release template at www.humbleplea.com.

Our message will be simple and heartfelt:

"Dear Christian voters, please don't turn your back on the babies with your vote. If Obama is elected, it will cost millions of children their lives. We all know the economy is in trouble; we are all feeling pressure on our families; we all would like the war to be over, and immigration fixed; but we cannot put these issues ahead of the lives of innocent babies."

It is to the point, and cuts to the heart of the matter.

Many of us have been distressed that abortion has not been a very key part of this election, even though in the hierarchy of issues and evils, it is the paramount battle of our times.

The truth is, the reason abortion has fallen off the radar screen is because we have let it. We have not had actions and rhetoric equal to the crime of child-killing.But we still have a window of time to reach our brethren. And what better way to reach them with the truth than on the front page of our papers, our local TV News, and our local radio and internet outlets?

We can take action that stands a good chance of getting covered by the press and media; a demonstration and press conference that show we will not let child-killing by abortion be ignored. It is a matter of life and death.Let me tell you clearly: we need you. Even if you have never done anything like this before, you can do it. Yes, you can do it in one day.

Just follow the instructions we have laid out at www.humbleplea.com. If you will take those steps, you have a great chance of getting your message out to hundreds of thousands of Christians in your area.Remember this: Truth has within it the seeds of its own victory; lies have within them the seeds of their own destruction.

Our duty is to herald the truth with as much clarity and courage and charity as we can, and to get our message out to as many people as possible. What better way than the front page of your local newspaper, or your local TV News? We have one week left to beg our fellow Catholics and Evangelical Christian brethren who intend to vote for Obama to come to their senses, and forsake their treacherous plans.

Will you help? Go to www.humbleplea.com and read the instructions. Then call us right away at 904-687-9804, and we will ad you to the list of those who dare to lift their voices for the voiceless.

Dear Ed, First of all, I want to thank you for your brave service to our nation. I truly understand your frustration at the economic situation we are faced with. I have long since abandoned the idea of loyalty to one party or another. Civilizations rise and fall on how they treat the most vulnerable. Don't let your anger at our current economic situation drive you to vote for a man who will make sure unborn babies continue to die an agonizing death. You're too good a man to do that, Ed.

If the lives of the unborn are so important, then pro-life Republicans need to lobby the Republican party to change their policies to support a consistent ethic of respect for life - the seamless garment image makes sense and communicates the interdependence of all life issues. If the Republican Party also supported peaceful solutions to international conflicts, economic justice, an end to the death penalty, removal of impediments to health care access for all, support of working people, humane treatment of prisoner, etc... they'd have all the votes that they'd ever need. But no, the drum beats for the unborn and then those souls get thrown under the bus of political expedience. If the pro-life voices in the Republican party would work to change the party from the inside to include life-affirming stances on all life issues, the party would have no problem attracting Catholic voters (I believe Sam Brownback is beginning to see the light on this…). But does anyone think that this profound change will ever happen? Sheer greed, prejudice, classism, empire-building and a pro-war mentality have trumped the lives of the unborn in the Republican party for decades. Admonishment works both ways, my brothers and sisters. The lives of the unborn depend upon your conversion and your courageous stand for support of human dignity for all. Look at yourselves in the mirror – those of you who condemn others as having an insufficiently-formed conscience and therefore undeserving of being Catholic are walking around with a plank in your eye.

By all means, pray and fast for God's perfect will to be done, in this election and for all eternity - on earth, as it is in Heaven.

I believe that the most important issues when it comes to electing a President are where he stands on abortion, same sex marriage, our country's defense and whether or not he has a strong Judeo-Christian background and belief. Barack Obama fails on all of these. He supports abortion, same sex marriage, does not believe in a strong US military or our right to defend our country from it's enemied (he'd rather try appeasement) and I question whether he truly has Judea-Christian beliefs since he willing allows his supporter to refer to him as the messiah.

When it comes to abortion he is an extremist. He believes that it is okay to murder babies in womb at an stage of development and he also doesn't see anything wrong with killing a baby who has survived an abortion.

He strongly favors the Freedom of Choice Act, which I consider one of the most dangerous acts this country could ever approve. It will nullify all progress that has been made on abortion restrictions. In addition, I believe that it can and will be used to force women to have an abortion if they learn during their pregnancy that their child will be less than perfect. Woman like Sarah Palin who knew that her child would be born with Down Syndrome could be forced to abort the child. I also believe that it could be used to put to death any child born that had a physical or mental disability.

I have a cousin who was born with stubs instead of fingers on his left hand. Where I used to work there was a woman whose arms were about two-thirds the length of normal arms and her hands were little more than claws with only two fingers and a thumb on each. My oldest sister is mentally retarded. Should people like this be denied the right to live just because they are imperfect?

Isn't that pretty much like Hitler's master race dream? Only the physically and mentally perfect get the right to be born and to live.
