Hundreds of iPhone users hit with worrisome 'blue screen of death'

Users experiencing problems were all T-Mobile customers.

Complaints have piled up against Apple iPhones, reaching social media, after several iPhones of various models were hit by the "blue screen of death" just before rebooting without any notice. The random occurrences became somewhat of an outbreak, after people revealed their experience on Twitter and other social media networks. The "blue screen of death" was first observed by MacRumors, according to USA Today.

Highlights

MUNTINLUPA, PHILIPPINES (Catholic Online) - iPhones that reportedly experienced random blue light flashes before the phones rebooted were through the T-Mobile (T-MUS) network, according to USA Today. It happened without warning, concerning users wondering if it was a normal thing to happen.

The phones affected are not of the same models, but range from iPhone 5s, iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus in several versions including the iOS 8 and iOS 8.3, says Mac Rumors. They were allegedly restarting between 10 to 30 minutes.

Some claimed to fix their phone problems by simply turning off the Wi-Fi, while others are opting to have a complete hard-drive reset on their iPhones to stop the "blue screen of death" from occurring. There are also some users who disabled voice over LTE and/or turned off LTE altogether.

Some are allegedly new iPhones, with a complaint tweet claiming the phone was just 2 month old.

Early last week, Apple announced that it would replace all the hard drives in iMac PCs reportedly malfunctioning.

Both Apple and T-Mobile have yet to make their explanations, although one theory suggests the problem may lie in the memory issues, but this was debunked due to the exclusivity to T-Mobile subscribers. On Thursday, Apple's shares fell 61 cents or 0.4 percent, stopping at $127.50.

It was just a day after a financier, Carl Icahn, claimed that the company's stock is the "best bet" he had seen after Netflix.
