Passive-aggressive Obama defies Congress to send $221 MILLION to sworn enemies in last minute act of sabotage

Obama sent money against Congressional wishes.

The Obama administration ended with a defiant move, as he spent his last hour as president sending millions to the Palestinians against the wishes of Congress. The money creates a problem for Donald Trump which he will be forced to address.

LOS ANGELES, CA (California Network) -- In his last hours in office, Obama ordered the State Department to release $221 million to the Palestinian Authority against the wishes of Congress. Congress had been blocking the funds to support Israel.

The money was authorized but never sent.  It was withheld to discourage the Palestinian Authority from petitioning the UN and other international organizations for recognition.

In addition to sending the money, Obama sent a memo to Congress, explaining that he was not going to allow an advisory vote, which is a customary move. The vote was not required since the money was already allocated.

The move, which angers Israel, cannot be rescinded by President Trump or blocked by Israel.

Israel has forged strong ties with President Trump, with the latter exploring the possibility of moving the U.S. embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

The Palestinians do not want the embassy moved, saying it would legitimize the Israeli state while politicizing one of the holiest cities in the world. Meanwhile, Israel does not want the U.S. to recognize the Palestinian state.

The Trump administration will have to deal with the consequences of Obama's action, which is widely seen as a last-minute, passive-aggressive attempt at sabotage.

Simultaneously, as Obama released the $221 million to the Palestinians, he also released funds to other organizations for other controversial programs including $4 million for climate change and another $1.25 million for the UN, and $1.05 million for the State Department in Pakistan and Afghanistan.
