LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - In the interview, which was uploaded to Soundcloud, Trump discussed some issues and controversies surrounding his candidacy.

Trump was asked about his mother, who "had a flair for the dramatic." Trump was asked how he picked up a similar flair.

After describing his mother as a beautiful, religious and intelligent woman, Arroyo turned the topic to Trump's misogynist comments and actions.

In response, Trump claimed protestors were paid thugs who were spreading lies about him. He called it "artificial and criminal," all of it "debunked" but spread by the Clinton campaign.

"I've had it, I've said it, I've made my apologies," he said.

Arroyo asked if Trump regrets any reactions he's made over the election season, to which Trump explained, "Well, I started with 17 people...and then I have the final now with Hillary Clinton...the reaction has been amazing but you can't go back, you have to look forward.

"This was a nasty campaign, people don't say this but it was a nasty campaign...There were 17 people coming at me from every angle and they hit me hard...But most of them have endorsed me."

Then the interview got serious.

Arroyo mentioned Trump hasn't always been against abortion. Trump immediately replied: "I am pro-life...There were a number of moments [to make him change his mind] but one was a couple that I know very very well. And you had a strong pro-life and you had a strong pro-choice and they argued over -the mother was pregnant- they argued over the child.

"One, I won't get into the specifics, but one wanted to abort and the other said we can't do that, we're not going to do that. Anyway they had the baby, it was a long time ago, and the baby is such a magnificent person, who I know.

"A magnificent person and the person that was actually pro-choice is actually pro-life and it had an effect on me. But I've seen other examples similar to that...it was a personal change...many people have made the personal change...But I made the personal change and I'm very happy with that."

Catholics were ecstatic to hear the Republican candidate side with life.

To add credence to Trump's political cause, he spoke of religious liberty.

"People that are faith-based...they're not being accepted in our country anymore. Obama has been a disaster in religious liberty...I was with pastors, ministers, priests, rabbis...in large numbers and in the first meeting I saw I had tremendous support.

"And I said, 'when are you going to endorse me?' and they said, 'We can't do that' and I said 'Why can't you do that?' They said, "We're not allowed to do that. If we did that we'd lose our tax-exempt status.'

And I said, 'Why is that?' and they told me about the Johnson Amendment, 1954. And I thought about it for a month and we had a meeting  again, 56 different pastors, ministers, etc.

"And I said we're going to get rid of the Johnson Amendment because our pastors and ministers should have the right to go out and speak their minds - these are the people we respect - and they're actually precluded from speaking their mind.

"If they speak their mind, their whole tax exemption status can be taken away. And I think it's one of the most important things I'll be doing for the evangelicals and for religion, so I think it's very very important."

Of Obamacare, which demands Catholic and other religious organization to provide birth control, Trump believes Obamacare needs to be repealed and replaced, calling it a "disaster."

Hillary Clinton supports Obamacare, which Trump claims, "doesn't work...It should have never been approved."

Donald Trump is not a perfect man - no one is - but his faith-based responses have earned him greater respect in the Catholic community.

"You can't look back, you have to look forward," he stated. The campaign trail has been an ugly one but Donald Trump appears to have what it takes to not only get through it but to also come out ahead.
