LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - Kaine, Hillary Clinton's vice presidential running mate, is prostituting his beliefs in exchange for votes.
Once upon a time, Kaine supported laws aimed at limiting funds for abortions, but recently he switched his position.
Polls reveal his support of repealing the Hyde Amendment, which prohibits abortion through Medicaid.
He claims always to have been a "strong supporter of Roe v. Wade" and believes the government shouldn't be allowed to interfere with a woman's rights.
During an interview on "Meet the Press," Senator Kaine stated: "I have a traditional Catholic personal position, but I am very strongly supportive that women should make these decisions and government shouldn't intrude.
"I'm a strong supporter of Roe v. Wade and women being able to make these decisions. In government, we have enough things to worry about. We don't need to make people's reproductive decisions for them."
He also co-sponsored the "Women's Health Protection Act," also known as the "Abortion Without Limits Until Birth Act," which would cease all existing state and federal limits regulating abortion.
Why would a Catholic want to stop the regulation of abortions? Anyone following the morality of the Church would never consider such a thing.
In fact, a small group of Catholics held a peaceful protest outside Kaine's church on Sunday.
WTVR 6 reported roughly a dozen protestors held signs on the sidewalk outside St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church in Richmond, Virginia.
Frances Bouton, the protest organizer, stated: "He is not America's dad at all. If people just scratched the surface, he's really, all I can say, is evil."
