LOS ANGELES, CA (California Network) - Hillary Clinton is losing votes, but Donald Trump is gaining. In California, Hillary Clinton scored 30 percent fewer votes than she did in 2008. It's the latest sign that she's slipping. Her favorability rating is negative. More Americans hate her than like her. And 2016 Hillary is doing a lot worse than 2008 Hillary.
On the other hand, for all the negativity and bad press, Trump continues to ascend. Following Tuesday's primaries, Trump now has over 13 million votes.
While some Republicans still refuse to work with him, and Democrats view Trump as a virtual anti-Christ, Trump remains a very popular candidate because of his populism. Although he is himself a wealthy billionaire, he appears to be an anti-establishment candidate, and a genuine patriot. He's a straight talker, a fact which often creates controversy, but also casts him in an honest, strong light.
Clinton on the other hand, looks strong compared only to Bernie Sanders. Compared to Trump, she's in in a dead heat. The two contenders have hardly clashed, and it is expected that when they do face off in the first presidential debate, Trump will punch both low and hard. It will remain to be seen how the public takes these performances.
Trump's closest contender, is George Bush, who had 12 million votes at this time in 2000.
If these numbers are accurate, and it's easy to believe they are, for they have to do with counted ballots, not surveys or anything else, they suggest Trump will be the winner in November.
