LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - Today marks the beginning of an exciting political shift in the United States. After several heated debates, fraudulent claims, questionable tactics and a historic coin toss, the New Hampshire primary begins.
Of the nine registered voters in Dixville Notch, all four Democrats voted for Bernie Sanders and the five Republicans split their votes three for John Kasich and two for Donald Trump.
During an interview with ABC's Good Morning America, Kasich admitted he called each of the registered voters in Dixville Notch. After hearing that Dixville Notch voted for him 3-2, Kasich responded, "We're going to finish very strong. I'm not like Muhammad Ali; I can't predict, you know, exactly what round or whatever."
Kasich's campaign bus departed for South Carolina on Monday and he admitted, "People have counted me out all of my career," adding, "I hope they keep underestimating me because there was another guy they underestimated all the time. His name was Reagan."In Millsfield, Hillary Clinton received two votes, while Sanders only received one. Ted Cruz got nine, Trump got three and other Republicans got one vote each.
Despite her lead in Millsfield, Clinton trails behind Sanders by nearly 30 percent of the votes. Polls aren't set to close until 5 p.m. (PST) Tuesday evening but unless something big happens, it appears Clinton will come in second to Sanders.
When asked to make a prediction, Clinton declined and instead thanked volunteers and local supporters. Kasich also avoided predictions, but spoke of his economic plans should he make it to the White House.
