LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - Three intelligence sources who remain anonymous revealed, "agents are investigating the possible intersection of Clinton Foundation donations, the dispensation of State Department contracts and whether regular processes were followed."
One of the sources added that "many previous public corruption cases have been made and successfully prosecuted with much less evidence than what is emerging in this investigation."
On Monday Clinton spoke to the Des Moines Register. Reporter Jennifer Jacobs revealed Clinton's denial of a secondary investigative track. When confronted with questions concerning the second look from the FBI, Jacobs reported Clinton stating, "No, there's nothing like that that is happening."
The Clinton Foundation is a public charity that granted and contributed over $144 million in 2013. The questions the FBI are asking have to do with the overlap of State Department and Clinton Foundation working together to dupe donors who benefited from contacts outside the administration.According to the FBI, they are not legally obligated to notify the subject of an investigation.
One intelligence source told Fox News that FBI agents would be "screaming" if a prosecution is not pursued as "many previous public corruption cases have been made and successfully prosecuted with much less evidence than what is emerging in this investigation."
Conservative author Peter Schweizer wrote that foreign government donations to the Clinton Foundation often coincided with positive State Department decisions in favor of the governments, but Clinton continues to strongly deny the Foundation had any effect on her decision-making while she served as Secretary of State.
