LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - However, the business man and television personality has already been hinting about running, including during a recent stop in Mason City, Iowa where he criticized the "stupid" people who are running this country.
Before a crowd of hundreds, Trump said that he'd be making "an announcement" later in June that he thinks "a lot of people are going to be very happy with what [he] has to say."
Trump said that he wants "to make the country greater and that's much more important" than just running his organization or building properties.
Trump has put his television show, "The Apprentice" on hiatus while he runs, and also has revealed that he is putting a hold on several business deals.
"I give up a lot," he said. "Politicians give up nothing. They run. They lose. They win. Half of the politicians that are running right now lost election. So they lost elections, now they're gonna run for president."
"They get fired from jobs. 'Oh, let's run for president. I got fired.'" Trump mocked.
Trump also predicted that opponents would not mesh well with his brusque personality.
"I bet they hate me," he said. "Won't they hate me when I'm on stage with them?"
"I'm gonna be announcing something that I think will be very exciting, it will be very different. And my campaign's going to be very different,' he said. 'I'm gonna show numbers that are phenomenal. Far greater than what anyone expected."
Following his announcement, Trump will return to Iowa to begin his campaign to woo the swing state, of which this meeting was an early attempt at.
