ABOUT TIME - Texas now requires aborted children to be given a funeral

A new law in Texas should help reinforce respect for the sanctity of life. The law now ensures that children killed in abortion mills at least get a proper burial.
We ask you, humbly: don't scroll away.

LOS ANGELES, CA (California Network) -- Abortion is often treated as a "once-and-done" approach to pregnancy. Women who choose to kill their children via abortion can literally walk away from their "choice" without any further thought about what has happened. Yet this practice not only kills children, but it reinforces the idea that abortion is a trivial chore.
Of course, abortion is anything but trivial. Even the women who choose abortion will tell you as much. It's a traumatic experience for many. Yet, it's marketed as a one-and-done solution. There's a lot of compassion, for the mother in the clinic (ostensibly), but the child is dehumanized.
The new law will combat this problem.
New rules mandate that aborted children must be given a funeral. They can be cremated and their ashes scattered or buried, but they must be given a funeral. Cremation costs around $10,000 and up, and the cost will be paid by the institution performing the abortion.
In addition to underscoring the importance of life, the funeral also ensures the proper disposition of the human body, which is a medical concern as well as a moral issue.
The new rule does not apply in all cases. Miscarriages and other incidents will not fall under these same rules. The law takes effect on December 19.
