LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - According to its website, Together Reset believes there is power in Christians joining together.

On July 16, Christians of all denominations met up to offer a powerful prayer for Jesus to "reset the generation."

The website clarified: "We believe Jesus can do unprecedented things in our time. Our dream is for more than one million people from all backgrounds to be part of this generation-defining day....Now our generation is rising up to lead toward a historic event that will define our time and shift our culture.

"The statistics of this generation are sobering; young people struggle with depression, self-harm, suicide, and addiction at unprecedented rates. But a call for hope is rising-the hope that only Jesus brings-to change our generation forever."

The event included unified prayer, worship and a call for "catalytic change" to help people reset their lives with help from Jesus, who "offers everyone a supernatural reset."

The website stated: "Jesus directly challenged a culture of division. He prayed we would be one-one family, one body. And He told us to love our enemies. Everyone loves their friends; it's when we love those who aren't like us that the world takes note. It's time to come together around Jesus in a counter-cultural moment of unity and love for each other.

"The need for hope is too great to be pointing fingers at each other instead of pointing to Jesus together."

Former NFL player Tim Tebow was one of the speakers at the event and he stated people should follow God in their lives.

"Continue to fight, continue to believe and continue to love," Tebow encouraged the audience. "One day, when I'm standing before my Heavenly Father, who has given us a task, He has given us a demand, He has asked us to do something.

"How cool would it be, when I leave this earth and I'm standing before the God that created every single one of us, for him to pull off his headset to this world, and walk out to me with His arms open wide and say, 'Tim, I just want you to know I love you, I'm proud of you, you finished strong."

Tebow continued, describing how living for God is the best thing we can do on earth and how important it is to do what God has called us to do, no matter how hard it is.

U.S. President Barack Obama also made a statement, in a letter, for the event: "I send greetings to all those gathered at Together 2016 in times of joy and uncertainty alike Christians have turned to Jesus," he wrote.

"As you come together today to pray, to learn, to share, to love and reset you have my best wishes for a memorable event."

Many prayed for Christ to reset their lives in an effort to revert to their pre-addictive ways. Others came just to be around other believers and to unite in an event greater than themselves.

Kofi Opoku, a 30-year-old from Ghana, explained: "[A] friend told me that there were people gathering together that were hungry for God," Opoku explained. "I am also seeking to be a part of something greater than myself, which is God."

The event went off without a hitch, though it ended five hours early due to high temperatures. Despite most of the crowd leaving, roughly sixty people remained to form a prayer circle and continue praying for the nation.
