MUNTINLUPA CITY, PHILIPPINES (Catholic Online) - The attack was believed to be over the hackers' opposition to the abortion practices performed by the healthcare group. Personal data on the patients and the employees of affiliate organizations to Planned Parenthood were not divulged by the hackers.

The attack occurred after a series of controversies pertaining to the organization. Anti-abortionist groups were greatly affected, after the release of the revealing video that featured the director of Planned Parenthood discussing the selling of aborted baby body parts.

A hacker revealed that the attack on the Planned Parenthood's website was a politically motivated decision.

"Trying to mold an atrocious monstrosity into socially acceptable behaviors is repulsive," said E., the anonymous hacker. "Obviously what [Planned Parenthood] does is a very ominous practice. It'll be interesting to see what surfaces when [Planned Parenthood] is stripped naked and exposed to the public."

Tom Subak, Chief Information Officer for Planned Parenthood explained, in an interview, that the organization was unaware of the breach in their website. "We think we have really good security, especially on flagging suspicious behavior," he claimed. "We have not [received any flags]."

"We've seen the claims around attempts to access our systems," said Dawn Laguens, VP of Planned Parenthood. "We take security very seriously and are investigating. It's unsurprising that those opposed to safe and legal abortion are participating in this campaign of harassment against us and our patients, and claiming to stoop to this new low."

More attention is being given to the shocking allegations about the activities of Planned Parenthood. The Department of Justice and the FBI are currently investigating the hacking incident.
