LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - Taking side with Planned Parenthood's public relations team, the White House officials claim the hidden camera videos were edited and misleading.
According to White House spokesman, Josh Earnest, he believes President Obama has not seen the videos, but is confident he has read reports "raising considerable concerns about the way those videos were selectively edited to distort, not just the words of the individuals speaking, but also the position of Planned Parenthood."
When asked if the Obama administration would consider cutting or withholding federal funds from the Planned Parenthood, Earnest answered shortly with a, "no."
To counter the claims of misleading the information, the organization investigating the abortion practices, the Center for Medical Progress released the full two-hour long videos of both "edited" versions.
Planned Parenthood has yet to step forward to dispute the longer versions, but previously labelled their actions as a "humanitarian" undertaking.
Many Pro-Life organizations, two House committees and a large number of individual states have launched their own investigations into Planned Parenthood's alleged practice of selling aborted baby organs and whether their acts violate state and federal statutes.
Calling out for help, 11 U.S. senators wrote a letter to U.S. Attorney General Loretta Lynch urging a federal investigation.
"I'm aware of those matters generally from the media, and from some inquiries that have been made to the Department of Justice, and again at this point we're going to review all the information and determine what steps - if any - to take at the appropriate time," Lynch responded at a press conference on Tuesday.
