LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - After the cold-blooded murder of NYPD officers, Rafael Ramos and Wenijan Liu, on Saturday the foundation is set to pay for the education of Ramos' son, 13-year-old Jaden.
Liu has no children.

The foundation offered to pay for Ramos' older son, but Bowdoin College informed the foundation they would be providing full financial support to sophomore Justin Ramos.
"I know you join me in offering heartfelt condolences to Justin and the entire Ramos family, and I am sure you will respect their privacy as they and we support one another in the days and weeks ahead," expressed Bowdoin president, Barry Mills.
Along with paying for the education of thousands of children who's deceased parent had been in the NYPD, FDNY, state police, and Port Authoirty workers in the tri-state area, the Silver Shield Foundation also paid for 700 children who lost a parent in the terrorists attacks on September 11, 2001.
Yankee owner, George Steinbrenner started his foundation in 1982 to show his appreciation and gratitude for those who put their lives on the line everyday.
After seeing how devasting the death an officer on duty can be for the family, Steinbrenner addressed his friend, former Olympian Jum Fuchs, "Who's going to take care of these kids?"
To which Fuchs, who would run the foundation until his death in 2010, replied, "We are."
