LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - According to the Daily Star, a covert operation conducted by a joint US-British task force was carried out in Syria last month.

The objective was the safe retrieval of young girls who were kidnapped and forced to marry ISIS fighters.

Senior military forces reported any girl who refused to marry was raped then dipped in acid or crucified.

The special forces were sent into the Syrian camp after intelligence officials caught word of the girls' plight from terrified locals.

Images and video evidence were handed over and military officials needed no further evidence.

Just looking at the pictures had both special forces weeping for the girls who were so young they had yet to pass puberty.

The joint special forces team was flown by helicopter to the outskirts of the village.

The soldiers, backed with armed drones, engaged in a two-hour firefight.

Delta Force snipers killed up to 10 Jihads, the SAS assault team killed 15 and terrorists were running for their lives.

One sergeant, an Iraq and Afghanistan veteran of war, moved through a series of rooms when he encountered two Jihads who opened fire.

One was shot dead but his gun jammed, forcing him to find a makeshift weapon.

He grabbed an axe and killed the terrorist, who was still armed with a gun, earning him the title of Hero.

Once the Jihads were either dead or had fled in disgrace, the soldiers began their sweep for the girls.

The village people had hidden up to a dozen young girls in cellars and attics by their families and one unnamed source reported:

"Members of Isis had been in the area for a few months and had been rounding up pre-pubescent girls who they wanted to become Jihadi brides.

"If the parents protested they were shot dead or beheaded. Some of the girls ran away but were captured and we received reports that they were crucified or dipped in acid and suffered the most appalling deaths.

"A rescue mission was launched. Up to 30 fighters were killed. Some escaped. There were no prisoners.

"The girls and their families were relocated from the village to northern Iraq where they have been welcomed and offered homes."
