'Not a single neighbor, though, called security forces.'

Béatrice Stockly was kidnapped and held for ransom by terrorist nation ISIS. Four years later she was kidnapped again for preaching the Word of God.

Highlights

LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - Stockly felt called to spread the Good News to persecuted peoples in the Middle East. After refusing to stop the spread of God's Truth, the Swiss missionary was abducted for "preaching Christianity on Muslim lands," an al-Qaeda Islamist stated.

The Islamist stepped forward to claim responsibility for Stockly's kidnapping and the jihad with a British accent recorded a ransom video featuring Stockly draped in a hijab.

The video was released Tuesday by al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb.

The masked man was recorded saying: "Béatrice Stockly is a Swiss nun who declared war against Islam ... in her attempt to Christianize Muslims. She was captured in Timbuktu...in 2012 and was then swiftly released by an order...We had set a number of conditions with regard to her release. Most importantly that she does not return to any Muslim land preaching Christianity.

"But she had nullified this agreement and returned to Timbuktu to continue her calling to Christianity. She was deluded by the presence of the French in the city, assuming that they would protect her from the reach of the heroes of Islam.

"And today...we...declare our responsibility for the kidnapping of this Christianizing [sinner] Béatrice Stockly, who by her work drove out many from the fold of Islam by seducing them with crumbs of this worldly life - and this is something that even the French army is uncapable [sic] of achieving.

"And here we would like to send a message to the Swiss government. We say to them that in the past we  prefer to specify our demands in secrecy but we have come to acknowledge that this kind of dealing, with these kinds of situations, is to no avail.

"So take heed of our just prerequisites of the release of Béatrice Stockly. Firstly, we request the release of all our captives imprisoned by the Malian government in Bamako. Secondly, we demand the return of our brother Abu Tarab...And finally we say to the Swiss government, that the release of Béatrice Stockly will not come into realization until all our demands are met.

"We also point out to you that with regards to this kind of situation, the West generally always tries to provoke us to terminate these dossiers in a way that suits them, i.e. by executing the captive in question. And by this ending negotiations...we emphasize the following: Béatrice Stockly is Swiss, not French.

"But assuming she was French, it would only take a few months before our demands would be met and her release realized. This is a clear message.

"Number two, we...have been accustomed to the management of these kinds of dossiers and are patient in it so we advise you against any evasiveness and any attempt of provocation because this is of no benefit to you. For if you agree to our demands, then we will release your citizen.

"But if not -but if not, then the Sahara will become a prison with no bars for all of your citizens."

At the conclusion of the video Stockly is shown in a hijab saying the ransom video was filmed 11 days after her capture.

When Stockly was initially taken, an unnamed source told Daily Mail that armed men arrived at her home in four vehicles.

"One vehicle parked in front of the house and armed men got out and abducted the woman, while the other three cars secured the area from a distance. People were sleeping but neighbors heard the noise - the woman screamed a lot. Not a single neighbor, though, called security forces."

Souleymane Maiga, an army spokesman, said, "I confirm that a European woman was kidnapped in Timbuktu at 3:30am. A neighbor alerted the security forces around 6am."

Please pray for the safe return of Stockly, who by the al-Qaeda member's own words has succeeded in God's Work by converting Muslims to Christians.
