Today marks the 36th anniversary of the terrifying day 52 Americans were taken hostage by a group of Iranian student revolutionaries who stormed the U.S. Embassy in Tehran. It wasn't until 444 days later that the hostages were released.
Reports have surfaced that Iranians are remembering this 1979 takeover by setting American flags and effigies of President Obama on fire and flying many anti-U.S. propaganda posters high in Tehran.
"We are here to say, 'down with the USA,'" a 59-year-old teacher going by Abdolah stated. "We will never... let to open this embassy again. It was not embassy - it was a place for spies."
The backlash against the United States continues to grow after the Iran nuclear deal has been made.
