Boy comforted by jihadists

Jafar al-Tayyar was filmed weeping as he slipped into the explosives-filled vehicle he was meant to drive for a suicide bombing attack. The video shows Tayyar being hugged and comforted by the jihadists before driving off in the armored personnel carrier.

The jihadi, who was from the faction in Uzbekistan, was sent to an al-Assad stronghold in Syria and caused an explosion so large the number of casualties has yet to be determined.

MUNTINLUPA, PHILIPPINES (Catholic Online) - The Mirror reported Tayyar cried, "I'm just scared I won't succeed."

According to an unidentified narrator in the short clip, al-Tayyar was a foreign-born fighter and the "first volunteer mujahid (jihad fighter) of Mawarannahr," meaning he was from the area now known as the modern-day Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, southern Kyrgyzstan and southwest Kazakhstan.

He launched the deadly suicide bombing attack at the Shi'ite town of Fua in the Idlib Province, which can be seen in the the video. The explosion was ground-shattering and the number of those who were killed has not yet been released.

Prior to the launch of his attack, Tayyar was seen weeping in fear, which he explained was the fear of failing the mission imposed on him by the terrorist organization.

"Jafar, my brother, don't be afraid. When you are scared, remember Allah," a fellow jihadi told the boy.

Al-Tayyar appeared to be in his 20s and a fighter for the Imam Bukhari Jamaat, which was led by a militant from Uzbekistan.

Radio Liberty stated the faction was said to be  fighting alongside the al-Qaeda-related Al-Nusra Front, one among several organizations using foreign-born jihadists for suicide missions.

The Islamic State group is also reportedly using the same missions' designation among their fighters.

Suicide bombing is an important strategy used in the Middle East to kill large groups of people at the cost of only a single fighter.

In Robert Pape's Dying to Win -The Strategic Logic of Suicide Terrorism, it says, "The bottom line, then, is that suicide terrorism is mainly a response to foreign occupation ... Modern suicide terrorism is best understood as an extreme strategy for national liberation against democracies with troops that pose an imminent threat to control the territory the terrorists view as their homeland."
