ISIS produces horrific footage of first 'cub' forced into beheading prisoner (WARNING: GRAPHIC CONTENT)

The 'Cubs of the Caliphate' are increasingly used in executions.

The Islamic State has released footage featuring a young boy heartlessly beheading a Syrian regime army officer, which is believed to be the first of its kind.

LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - Taking place at the Western Hir Palace in the province of Homs, the captured soldier is forced to lie on his stomach as the boy, no older than 10, stands over him dressed in camouflage and a black head scarf.

The boy, whose face is uncovered, grabs the back of the Syrian man's hair and uses a small knife to slit the man's throat, brutally beheading him.

"In a moment of true horror the child then lifts the victim's severed head in a warped celebration of the brutal murder. He then places the head on the victim's back," describes the Daily Mail.

At the end of the video, an older militant faces the camera threatening the West, "Our goal is not only Palmyra or Homs or Damascus, rather our goal is to conquer Bayt al- Maqdes [Jerusalem] and Rome, God willing," according to the UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

In recent months, ISIS has become accustomed to using their "cubs of the Caliphate" in executions. However, this video of a child beheading a man is expected to be the first; the "cubs" are usually featured shooting prisoners.

Earlier this month, ISIS produced an execution video showing 25 child executioners inside Palmyra at a Roman amphitheater with a line of regime soldiers on their knees. A crowd of blood thirsty men and boys watched as the young boys were forced to shoot all the soldiers in the back of the head.

The first confirmed execution at the hands of a child is thought to be the January footage of two children shooting a pair of former jihadi 'spies' working with Russia.

ISIS will continue to employ the next generation of militants, unless something is done. Who will put a stop to this terror? Who will stand up for these young boys forced to become a part of a nightmare? Who will say enough is enough?

"We are hard pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed." 2 Corinthians 4:8-9
