LOS ANGELES, CA (California Network) -- A terror suspect left a bucket with a bomb inside onboard a London commuter train. He targeted the District Line at Parson's Green. The bomb exploded while the train was packed with morning commuters. The youngest victim was a 10-year-old boy. Several passengers had severe burns on their legs and faces. The train was above ground and stopped at the time of the detonation.

More people could have been killed by the bomb, but the device failed to work properly. The Islamic State has already claimed responsibility for the attack in a statement.

The mayor of London Sadiq Khan asked people to be vigilant.

Witnesses say there was a loud bang followed by a wall of flames which was funneled down the train carriage. Passengers began running and stampeding off the train. One witness described the scene as "every man for himself."

The train was above ground and stopped when the bomb detonated, which allowed people to quickly escape danger.

One odd circumstance developed in the rush to escape, people grabbed children and ran with them to safety. This left some nannies searching for the kids under their care.

Two types of injuries were reported, the first being flash burns, people who were burned by sudden, brief exposure to flames, and crush injuries, a result of being caught up in the stampede.

It is important to note that the attacker who planted the bomb remains at large. The suspect may be armed and should be considered very dangerous. It is possible he has other bombs.

The bomb has already been studied by experts who say the device is crude and did not detonate properly.

The bomb was crudely built using a bucket and Christmas lights as a fuse. It mimics a design promoted by the Islamic State terror organization. Thankfully, the terrorist was an amateur and the device did not work as well as intended.

Local police responded to the attack professionally, and have been praised for their rapid and efficient response.

This is the fifth terror attack in London this year.
