Serbia attempts to push 30,000 migrants through

Following reports of the massive immigration of Syrian refugees, Hungary has closed the boundary gap with razor-wire fences and sent security forces to guard railways.

MUNTINLUPA, PHILIPPINES (Catholic Online) - Other European nations, namely Austria, Slovakia and the Netherlands, have followed Germany in the imposition of tighter border control. European Council President Donald Tusk has scheduled an emergency meeting with the ministers to find a way to control the influx of refugees.

During a surge of humanity last Sunday, 5,809 migrants were recorded entering Hungary, breaking the record from the previous day of 4,330, said local authorities.

Serbia planned on pushing roughly 30,000 migrants into Hungary before the the new border rules take effect. Serbia is said to have sped up the provisions for buses transporting migrants.

Hungary's transport authority reported a 12-mile shutdown of airspace up to heights reaching 4,500 feet along the Hungary-Serbia border. New border laws would enable officers to make arrests on the grounds of entering the country illegally. Refugees are expected to enter the country to travel through Austria and reach asylum in Western Europe, particularly Germany and Sweden.

Thousands of immigrants have already been stranded in Austria after border controls were reinstated in Germany and train trips between the two countries were suspended, adding to the different imposed border rules among European nations. The country said that they are already reaching the limits with thousands of refugees entering the territory each they.

"There are many signs that Germany this year will take in not 800,000 refugees, as forecast by the interior ministry, but one million," wrote Germany's Vice Chancellor Sigmar Gabriel to the center-left Social Democratic Party.

Due to the growing predicament, traffic along the motorway between Hungary and Austria is temporarily closed in both directions, Reported road operator ASFINAG.

But there were also those who were wary of Germany's decision, saying that border control will add more to the crisis than improve the situation. With the seemingly non-contingent measures applied by each nation, the European Council chair decided to call ministers for an emergency summit.
