MUNTINLUPA CITY, PHILIPPINES (Catholic Online) - A group of fleeing migrants, staying in the northern French port city of Calais, try to endure and finish the final 31-miles of their journey. These migrants have fled their homes in Sudan and Afghanistan and are trying to sneak across the English Channel to settle in Britain.

Fleeing migrants are currently settled at Calais and expressing the misery they have to endure as they stay in "jungle camps." The area is located in a wind-swept stretch of scrubland surrounded by sand dunes. They are taking shelter in the area under small tents and tarps, as they continue their journey to Britain. Amenities, such as kitchen areas and bathrooms are non-existent. The existing weather is not conducive for living. Even the group's food supply are continuously depleting.

At dusk, the migrants continue their journey in the fields or in the highways, as they try to sneak their way through the Eurotunnel's security net. The group cuts holes in fences, climbs over them and tries to outsmart the security forces. They walk like shadows, as they track along the path towards the mouth of the tunnel.

According to the migrants, they plan like soldiers, but know their journey is dictated by luck and there is no assurance they will reach Britain or even cross the border safely.

Several pictures of the migrants were released online. The images taken by Emilio Morenatti, chief photographer for The Associated Press in Spain and Portugal featured the current situation of these migrants inside the "jungle camps" of Calais.
