Many young Greeks are staying at home, unemployed.

The future for Greeks now rests in limbo; young Greek men are being forced to extend their childhood, as they continue to face unemployment indefinitely. As the Greek Debt crisis continues to affect the entire nation, Greek men, young and old, as well as the rest of its population, are broke and beset by the lack of job opportunities.

Highlights

MUNTINLUPA CITY, PHILIPPINES (Catholic Online) - Greek men are now putting off serious relationships, set up to live their life as children, as they continue to suffer with unemployment and other financil problems caused by increasing problems from the Greek debt crisis. Several other issues, concerning health, education and social issues also arise from the Greek debt.

The Greek crisis is still not over. Even with a deal reached earlier this July in Brussels, the saga to resolve the nation's biggest challenge, financially and economically remains incomplete. The referendum held earlier this month showcased the younger Greeks rejecting the deal by more than 70 percent, thus leading the overall result to 61 percent for "No."

The unemployment rates for young Greeks stand currently at 50 percent. Those who in their late thirties and early forties are so much into their professional lives making them expensive new employees to hire. The younger generation, on the other hand, come with great working qualifications, but are not senior enough to challenge the professionals who came before them.

The Greek economy crisis has also caused medical and social issues that cause the nation's situation to become even worse. Heart attacks under 45 years old jumped by 74.5 percent and among women at 86.5 percent. Last year, 2014, there were 802 new cases of HIV infection, 86.8 percent of the number were men.

Extended families and households are also growing. New Greek families would rather remain with their parents, than moving out with a new family of their own. Birth rates are starting to decline, while divorces are starting to escalate.

Greek professionals are starting to leave the country in favor of a more economically compensating job and opportunities available overseas. Thus Greece's brain drain is starting to affect the country's economy.

The fear of the Greek crisis spreading to nearby European countries grows, as the financial situation in the country remains vulnerable.
