El Arzobispo de Madrid y Presidente de la Conferencia Episcopal Española (CEE), Cardenal Antonio María Rouco Varela, presentó el segundo volume de las Obras Completas de Joseph Ratzinger, que trata sobre "la enseñanza del Concilio Vaticano II" y cuya edición española ha sido publicada por la Biblioteca de Autores Cristianos (BAC).

MADRID (ACI/EWTN Noticias) - Esta segunda parte sobre el Concilio Vaticano II fue presentada en la Facultad de Teología San Dámaso de Madrid por el Purpurado junto con el rector de la Universidad Eclesiástica San Dámaso, el sacerdote Javier Prades López, el vicedecano de la Facultad de Teología, Gabriel Richi Alberti; el profesor de Teología sistemática en la misma universidad, Manuel Aróztegui Esnaola, y el director de la BAC, Carlos Granados. El primer volumen de estas Obras Completas titulado "Teología de la liturgia" se publicó en España en noviembre de 2012.

El Cardenal Rouco aseguró que el Obispo Emérito de Roma "es un guía excepcional para entender y comprender" el Concilio Vaticano II y que "si hay un buen intérprete del concilio ese es Joseph Ratzinger, un hombre con una capacidad intelectual extraordinaria y una sensibilidad teológica admirable".

Este compendio consta de 18 volúmenes que se publicarán en los próximos seis años. El director de la BAC aseguró durante la presentación que "tienen un valor teológico en sí mismas pese a su renuncia al Pontificado". Granados también subrayó que el tomo presentado sobre el Concilio habla sobre algo actual ya que "Ratzinger propone una solución perenne a los problemas que encuentra la Iglesia cuando dice que 'la hora actual es una nueva oportunidad para anunciar la belleza y la fuerza de la fe'".

Además, el mismo Benedicto XVI escribe el prefacio de este libro y en él asegura que espera que "estas múltiples aportaciones, aun con todos sus límites puedan contribuir en su conjunto a comprender mejor el Concilio y a traducirlo en verdadera vida eclesial".

La traducción de la edición española ha sido revisada por un comité de teólogos y profesores de teología, entre ellos Manuel Aróztegui Esnaola, Olegario González de Cardedal o Pablo Blanco Sarto.
