'Oh my god, you have stabbed me!' are the final words of young man defending his younger brother in attack

Blackberry cell phones are neat things to have - but they aren't worth the life of a young person. Seventeen-year-old Dogan Ismail is dead after he tried to defend his younger brother from a youth gang that had stolen the phone. A young boy and woman are now wanted for questioning in the London murder.

Residents on the estate today said they were living in fear following the second such incident on their doorstep in the space of a few months.

LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - Ismail died from his injuries at a block of flats in Walworth, south-east London. The student along with his younger brother Orhan, who is 15 years old, had gone to retrieve the stolen BlackBerry when they were confronted by up to four youths and a row broke out.

The mobile phone had previously been stolen by three students that Orhan recognized from his school as he walked home from playing football.

"If you come here we will give it back to you,' was a message he had received earlier.

The brothers headed to Latimer House to retrieve the phone, but instead one of the boys pulled out a knife and stabbed Dogan in the chest at the top of a stairwell. The teenager bled to death as his brother vainly tried to save his life.

"He made to give back the phone, but instead brought a knife from behind his back and stabbed Dogan in the chest," Orhan later told his family:

"His last words were, 'Oh my God, you have stabbed me!' The guy just calmly walked away."

In an unusual move, police have named a youth wanted for questioning in connection with Dogan's death. Fifteen-year-old Dawda Jallow from Peckham is described as black, clean shaven with cropped black afro hair, five feet, five inches tall with a slight build.

"I am seeking help from the local community to locate Dawda Jallow. I appeal to anyone who knows of his whereabouts, or has any information that could assist us, to come forward," Detective Chief Inspector Matt Bonner of the Homicide and Serious Crime Command says.

"I appeal direct to Dawda to present himself at a police station so this matter can be dealt with."

So far, a 15-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of murder and a 39-year-old woman on suspicion of perverting the course of justice. They have since posted bail.

"My thoughts go out to Dogan's family, who has been left devastated by his senseless killing. That it should happen at this time of year is all the more tragic. I would like to urge anyone with information about this incident to come forward and speak with my officers or, if they would prefer to remain anonymous, Crimestoppers," Bonner says.

Pope Francis Makes Another Impassioned Plea for Christian Unity Watch

Image of Divisions among us, but also divisions among the communities: evangelical Christians, orthodox Christians, Catholic Christians, but why divided? We must try to bring about unity. Let me tell you something, today, before leaving home, I spent 40 minutes more or less, half an hour, with an evangelical pastor. And we prayed together, seeking unity. But we Catholics must pray with each other and other Christians. Pray that the Lord gift us unity! Unity among ourselves! How will we ever have unity among Christians if we are not capable of having it among us Catholics, in the family, how many families fight and split up?
